Where to be on Monday!!!

It's going down tonight y'all. The battle of the year. Ottawa vs Montreal in an epic Yo Momma Battle 2011. First off, it's apart of the dirtiest monthly show in Montreal. Blue Monday hosted by Good 'n Evil Productions happens on the last Monday of every month at Katacombes. It's always a great line-up of dirty comics who just want to make you laugh and squirm at the same time. Tonight will be Keith Waterfield, Sophie Buddle and Skip Phillips.

After we have some improv with one of the longest running troupes in Canada, On the Spot. No, we're not done yet! We have a saucy burlesque dancer who will make you toot your horn, Sucre à la Crème.
After a short intermission, we will have the battle of the year. Ottawa vs Montreal in Yo Momma Battle 2011. That's right you heard me son! Yo moms is so ugly, the only people that would ride her are camel jockeys. Bouya!!!
All of this will be hosted by the puppet master Paul Ash.

Oh, did I mention thanks to my buddy Leonard, the whole show will be sponsored by Skunk Magazine!
Yes winners of the battle will get T-Shirts and Magazines! Whatever is left over goes to the crowd!

So how, when, where?
Tonight at Katacombes 1635 St-Laurent. 8:30pm for Blue Monday, 10:00pm for Yo Momma Battle. It's 10$ a show but you can enjoy both for 15$!!!! There's gonna be prizes for best costume so come dressed up and add to the fun!

I know this post should of been out ages ago but life is a twat and you have to work around her because she won't, and almost never, will work with you. Life is like a whore, you've got to make her work for you. Not to mention that my blog looks like shit. I have a vision of what it should look like and this ain't it. So bear with me for the next couple of weeks while I tweak the shit out of it!
Here's a contest you can enter to win double passes to Le Comedy Bistro Dirty!!!

See you tonight and Happy Halloween

I'll be the judge of that!!!

Well hello everyone. How are ya?! So I've had the opportunity to judge a few of Paul Ash's Kick Ash Comedy Shows over the last few months. I have yet to express how much fun I've had doing it. It's always a blast to be able to participate and have a whole lot of good laughs at the same time. Whatever, call me judgmental if you'd like, I see it more as being observantly curious if you will. Hopefully my awesome co-judge Shayne Pickle and I did a good job this week, cause let me tell ya, this one was tough. I do like a good challenge.

That's a wrap!

Sunday closed a fantastic festival. It was the 6th Annual Montreal Improv Festival and it all took place at Montreal Improv Theatre. The Tu and the Jo went down on Saturday. We tried to catch both shows, but the first one was sold out. Happy to see that the second one was too.

Wasssup!

Last night was the first show of the Montreal Improv Festival. It was packed with people of all ages and ready to laugh at the unknown. I forgot my camera in a late panic when I left my house yesterday. I'm very upset by this but thank you Joseph Ste.Marie for your pics! Check out the rest on Flicker, right here.

Dear Dave

I went out to see Dave Merheje's one man show which was a Q & A format. Questions that he's never heard before from people around Montreal answered in Dave's style of straight up comedy.
Hosted by Ali Hassan and Paul B opened the show. Big ups to Sasha Manoli and Jasmin Knox for putting the show together.

Venezuela

No not the country people. Venezuela is a funny duo of improvisers.  François Vincent and Sean Michaels remove the words from improv and replace them with a little bit of nonsense, mumbo-jumbo and just plain 'ol silliness.

Check out the promo video below to get a taste of what's to come!

Follow the group on Facebook and Montreal Improv on Vimeo to keep up to date with all the fun!
They will be the third troupe to perform on Wednesday October 12th, 8pm.
Tickets are 8$ or 12$ for double headers. If you a Montreal Improv student, reduced prices are at your finger tips.

So don't miss out on this fantastic opening night.
All happening at Montreal Improv, 3713 St-Laurent #202

What a performance!

The room was silent, you could hear a pin drop and every one's attention was on one person: Dan Bingham. His one-man  show was brilliant and it's no wonder it won Just For Laughs Best Comedy Award!

Improv has been a subject of comedy I've been meaning to tackle.  Well here's my chance. As I will be learning about them, so shall you.

For the next week, I will do mini post describing each troupe, what makes them different from the others and when you can catch their  show. I'm so excited to get my feet wet, soaking wet.
