The Montreal Improv Anniversary Weekend

Here's a quick copy and paste post on some upcoming improv going down at Montreal Improv this weekend. I know improv isn't everyone's cup of tea but you should go check out some of these well seasoned acts that just might change your mind when it comes to making it up on the spot. It ain't easy to get that flow and that wit. These funny people got it, that's for sure! Plus let's be Montreal and have it bilingual. Come and see two different languages perform the same style of comedy. I love seeing this. The culture of each language has it's own accent, no pun intended. It's very interesting to see.

"Montreal Improv proudly presents an exciting line-up of English and French improvised comedy as they celebrate their second year at their location on the corner of St-Laurent and Des Pins.  The founders, Kirsten Rasmussen, Marc Rowland, Francois Vincent, and Bryan Walsh, will perform their most popular shows and bring in their favourite acts to take part in the 4-day anniversary bash happening during August 2-5.

“I’m very excited to see the diversity both in style and language scheduled for this year’s celebration,” said Marc Rowland, a founder and director of Montreal Improv. ”Our community of students and performers has been steadily growing and it’s nice to see some new talent emerging.”

Some of the acts playing during the festivities include: Uncalled For, 2-time winners of the Just For Laugh’s Best Comedy Award; Way the Hell Off-Broadway, an improvised musical featuring Dan Jeannotte, Kirsten Rasmussen, Bryan Walsh and musician, John Gilbert; Easy Action, created by the Bitter End’s Brent Skagford and Marc Rowland who recently performed their show in London, UK; Les Enfants de Moliere, an unscripted play inspired by the work of the French playwright; and special guests from New York City, The Magnet Theatre Touring Company, a veteran troupe who will also be offering workshops during the weekend’s festivities."
